Bozeman has many of the state’s best destinations for outdoor activities. From day hikes to fly-fishing to downtown exploring, there is never a dull moment in Bozeman. We have compiled a list of the top activities to keep you busy all summer long! 


  1. HIT THE TRAILS Bozeman has several trails that are perfect for a hike, run or biking through. Morning is ideal for Bozeman as afternoons can start to heat up. Looking for a trail with plenty of options? Check out the “M” Trail. It offers a 1.7-mile loop with options for easy and difficult hikes. 
  2. HYALITE CANYON 18 miles south of Bozeman is Hyalite Canyon. This beautiful area offers hiking, scenic drives, and plenty of fishing opportunities at the Hyalite Reservoir. The hike to Hyalite Peak is perfect if you’re looking for a challenge. The 16.2-mile trail gains over 3,500 feet and is rated difficult. 
  3. BOZEMAN DOWNTOWN If you’re not feeling outdoorsy, Bozeman offers a lot of fun options as you make your way downtown. The arts scene thrives here! You’ll never be bored as you visit the many galleries showcasing regional and local artists. The area offers several museums that are great for a family outing. When you finish up your day, be sure to stop at one of the fantastic downtown restaurants for an out-of-this-world dining experience. 
  4. HOT SPRINGS The hot springs offer naturally fed spring pools and a great, relaxing atmosphere. The hot springs are the perfect way to relax after a long day of exploring Bozeman’s outdoor adventure areas. 
  5. SUNSET VIEWING Before you head to bed, make sure to catch the gorgeous sunsets that can only be found here. Burke Park is the perfect viewing spot for one and all. As part of the Main Street to the Mountains trail system, you’ll enjoy the easy to navigate route
